Mucosolvan 30mg/5ml Syrup 100ml Improves Respiratory Function
Ambroxol, the active substance of Mucosolvan, increases the secretion of mucus in the respiratory tract, which stimulates the production of pulmonary surfactant and improves the function of the cilia of the respiratory epithelium. As a result, it increases the amount of mucus and improves its transport, which in turn facilitates expectoration and soothes cough. Ambroxol is rapidly and almost completely absorbed after oral administration.
Indications: Acute and chronic diseases of the lungs and bronchi with mucus secretion disorders and difficulties in its transport.
Contraindications: Allergy (hypersensitivity) to ambroxol or any of the other ingredients of the drug; if you suffer from hereditary, rare states of intolerance to excipients.
Side effects:Like all medicines, Mucosolvan can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Mucosolvan is generally well tolerated. The most common side effect (affects less than 1 in 10 and more than 1 in 100 patients) is diarrhoea. Uncommon side effects (less than 1 in 100 and more than 1 in 1,000 patients) are: nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal disorders, hypersensitivity reactions. A rare side effect (affects less than 1 in 1,000 and more than 1 in 10,000 patients) is heartburn. In addition, the following may occur: indigestion, rash, urticaria, angioedema, anaphylactic reaction (including anaphylactic shock).
Dosage: The usual dose of Mucosolvan is: Adults: 1 tablet 3 times a day. The effect of the drug can be increased by taking 2 tablets twice a day. Tablets should be taken after meals with liquid.
